Coordinators Reports
Adult Program - The program is going, and the team is fully subscribed. Outdoor play will continue as long as the weather holds. Indoor is slated to begin the first weekend of November.
Registrar - Peggy Westerling reported that there are two U12 teams for this fall (the older kids play on the school teams in the fall). The Dryden Express will be coached by Scott Nostrand, and the Dryden Strikers will be coached by Jeri-Ann Bush.
Referees and Coaching - No report.
Treasurer - Doug Hoyt provided a treasury report. The total ending balance as of September 8 is $6,723.88. Tim said that the school will approach Doug with a bill for $375 for the sound system donation we are making. Peggy showed the bronze plaque that will be displayed on the varsity field. This cost $145, but the group agreed that it is important that the Club be known.
Facilities - Peggy reported that things are going well, and that Ralph has been very responsive. The rec leagues are on the calandar. The expected charges are $10/hr for building use, and $100 for field use for the season. Bill asked about the Adult group, and Peggy will submit a building use form for the Adults too.
Equipment - Jeri-Ann Bush is restocking the med kits; one is missing. The group agreed that this is normal "wear and tear".
Uniforms - Peggy will be preparing an order, and will send an email to the coaches to see what they need.
Rec League - We are on track, with Dryden Rec co-sponsoring the program and providing insurance for $3/player with no waiting period. This will both save the families money and allow us to provide better service. There was a discussion about buying cotton t-shirts instead of the nylon shirts. Graphics Plus Printing in Cortland has our screens. There was some discussion of various possible suppliers.
New Business
Coaching Clinic - The coaching clinic planned for October is up in the air; that date is bad for Janine Bennett, and Tim Wiese hasn't heard back from Laszlo Engel. Bill Turner said he would check with him on Wednesday after school, when the adult group goes there for pickup soccer. Lizette inquired about videotaping the seminar. Tim said that the Club bought tapes a couple of years ago, and he believes Laszlo has them at present.
DSC Shirts - Tim inquired whether there was interest in ordering golf shirts for sale to the members. There was some general discussion about various options, including jackets. Graphics Plus has our old Club logo screen; Score hsa our new one. Lizette will check on prices of shirts, and Peggy will check with Malcolm at Score.
Fields - Tim did meet with Ralph in July, as discussed at the July meeting, and it was a very good meeting. DSC will use the back field for practice to avoid wear and tear on the JV field, and the school is planning where to fit in the fields. The JV field will get some repair work, reseeding the goal areas.
Tompkins County Soccer Association - No news this month; Mike Cheatham is busy getting the TCFSL going.
Next meeting: Monday, November 10, 7:00 PM at the Elementary School
